Surgical Services for Your Pet

At LSAC, we understand that dropping off your pet for surgery – even for the most routine and simple procedure – can be a stressful and nerve wracking experience for you both. That’s why our caring, compassionate vets and staff works so hard to create a calm, peaceful environment and ensure that each surgery that we perform is as stress-free as possible for both our clients and their cherished pets.

We want to set your mind at ease, knowing that your pet will be in excellent hands with our surgical team!

Prior to any procedure being performed, we make sure each surgical patient is thoroughly examined and tested to be sure that they are healthy enough to proceed. We never want to place your pet at risk and we’ll take every measure to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times while in our care. Each animal’s protocol is customized for the individual in order to ensure proper pain control and the safest available anesthetic. Pain management is administered before surgery for maximum comfort and continued at home.

All surgeries are performed by our highly skilled veterinarians, using modern equipment and the most up to date surgical techniques. We utilize an anesthetic plan that is specifically chosen your pet. A majority of surgeries are performed with Isoflurane, and inhalation anesthetic, rather than an injection. The inhalation anesthetic allows for quicker recovery and better control of anesthetic depth in the event of a complication. Our certified veterinary technicians or trained veterinary assistants are always on hand to closely monitor surgical patients throughout the entire procedure in a sterile, controlled environment – from the moment anesthesia is carefully administered to the time the patient is transferred to our recovery area. Rest assured that at LSAC, the safety and comfort of your pet is always our highest priority. It is important to recognize that all anesthetics carry a risk independent of the age or species of any animal.

When surgery is complete, a member of our staff will reach out to you to explain how everything went and discuss a good time for you to retrieve your pet. When you arrive at our office, we’ll provide you with our post-operative care instructions and answer any questions that you may have about the procedure, aftercare, and helping your pet recover comfortably. Our goal is to have your companion fixed up and on the mend as quickly and safely as possible.
